T04 Extruded Props

Extruded props are also “general” basic kiln furniture, which refer to props with a hollow cross section. It can further reduce the weight of the kiln furniture system and the contact area between kiln furniture. The most commonly used materials include cordierite-mullite, mullite, and silicon carbide. It is usually formed by high-pressure vacuum extrusion and casting. Due to the hollow structure, it has better heat dissipation, less cracking, lower energy consumption, and is more suitable for fast firing systems. However, the requirements for prop materials are changed, and the loading capacity of the kiln furniture system is reduced, which is not suitable for heavy load kiln furniture systems such as brick and tile industries. According to the classification rules of Trend products, extruded props are further subdivided into long props, round props, oval props, square props, rhombus props, special extruded props and other subcategories.
