S14 Food Stoves and Tools

Food is the paramount necessity for all people! Due to the differences in history, culture and lifestyle, the world's food culture has been bright and colourful. There are various cooking methods and cooking utensils. Generally speaking, the stoves used for food baking bear higher temperature, up to about 1000°C. As stoves for food industry, the cordierite products are mainly used as stones for pizza baking and lining materials for various ovens. As the pizza stone, it must be non-toxic and tasteless, easy to clean, good to keep the taste of the food, and can be used repeatedly. As the oven lining, it needs to have good thermal shock stability besides being non-toxic and tasteless because the oven door is frequently opened up and closed off, making the temperature in the oven fluctuate greatly.

The main chemical compositions of the high-purity cordierite products specially developed by Trend for the food industry are aluminium oxide, silicon dioxide and magnesium oxide, the main mineral phases are cordierite, mullite and amorphous glass phase, and other traces of heavy metals and toxic components, for example, the content of cadmium, lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBBEs/PBDEs) comply with EU and US standards for stoves and tableware. Trend produces a full range of plain batts, grooved batts and round batts as pizza stones. Both extruded batts and plain batts can be used as oven linings. Trend can also develop stoves and tableware with special shapes and materials according to use conditions from the customers.
