S03 Tableware Ceramics

Cordierite-mullite kiln furniture was originally developed for the tableware industry. There are more and more varieties of tableware ceramics, including tableware fine porcelain, stoneware (semi-porcelain), bone china, fine pottery, red pottery, pottery (casserole, clay pot), Baiyun pottery, etc. The kilns used include shuttle kiln, tunnel kiln (including circular kiln), roller kiln, etc. The types of fuel include natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, city gas, producer gas, diesel oil, heavy oil, and electricity. The firing of different types of porcelain are very different, for example, the glost firing temperature of fine porcelain tableware is 1250-1300°C when fired in oxidizing flame, and it is 1320-1380°C when fired in reducing flame; the firing temperature of stoneware is generally 1220-1260°C; the firing temperature of fine pottery is generally 1220-1250°C; the firing temperature of red pottery & general pottery is lower than 1200°C; and the firing temperature of Baiyun pottery is usually around 1050°C. The firing time varies even more, for example, fine porcelain tableware can be fired from 5 hours to 20 hours, stoneware can be fired from 4 hours to 15 hours, and the shortest firing for in-glaze firing is only 2 hours.
